Softball Recap: Sheldon Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Sheldon and Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Monday. The Orabs came up short against the NIGHTHAWKS, falling 13-4. The Orabs haven't had much luck with the NIGHTHAWKS recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Sheldon's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheldon will host MOC-Floyd Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Dutchmen's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Orabs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Okoboji at 7:00 p.m. The Pioneers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.94 runs per game on average), something the NIGHTHAWKS will no doubt try to take advantage of.
