The Camelback Spartans will face off against the Chandler Wolves at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Camelback has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Camelback fell victim to Desert Ridge and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Jaguars, falling 17-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Spartans were not able to get on the board.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, Chandler made sure to put some runs up on the board against Marana on Thursday. The Wolves put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 14-1 victory. Considering the Wolves have won five games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Zayden Peltz made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Julian Rainey looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Dylan Lopez was a standout: he got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Devan Wilson was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Chandler always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marana only posted an OBP of .235.
Chandler's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Camelback, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Camelback has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .523. However, it's not like Chandler struggles in that department as they've averaged .453. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Camelback might still be hurting after the 26-0 loss they got from Chandler in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Spartans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
