Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Crisp Academy walked away with it. They never let the Fullington Academy Trojans get on the board and left with an 8-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Laura Evans made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Evans was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.
In other batting news, Kylee Odom was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Ansley Simpson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Crisp Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Fullington Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
As of now, neither Crisp Academy nor the Trojans have any future games scheduled.
