Castro Valley is 9-1 against Encinal since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Trojans will face off against the Jets at 4:00 p.m. Castro Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
Castro Valley will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Jesse M. Bethel on Monday. The Trojans put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 11-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Andrew Mu?oz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Castro Valley is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 6-10 otherwise. Mu?oz was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
In other pitching news, Dhillon Baughman looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Gavin Perkins, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Max Meier, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Berkeley typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Encinal proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with an 8-4 win over the Yellowjackets. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Jets as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Like Castro Valley, Encinal also got a great game from a two-way player: Zach Pippen. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Pippen has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Matan Antebi was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Eric Proctor was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Castro Valley's record now sits at 9-11. As for Encinal, their record is now 13-6.
Castro Valley beat Encinal 6-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Jets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
