The Katella Knights suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Segerstrom, falling 59-32. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Katella in their matchups with Segerstrom: they've now lost eight in a row.
Stephanie Valenciano was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds for Segerstrom. Valenciano has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Valeria Quero, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Katella's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Segerstrom, they pushed their record up to 18-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Katella will take on Westminster at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Segerstrom, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Godinez Fundamental at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. Godinez Fundamental is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
