Baseball Recap: Analy Snags Tenth Victory in Last 12 Games

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Analy and Piner, and Analy kept the tradition alive. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Prospectors on Friday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Wes Bush made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. Bush was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Analy's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Hunter Thomas and Donnie Rinkor did most of the damage at the plate: Thomas went 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double, while Rinkor got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Thomas has become a key player for Analy: the team is 10-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-6 otherwise. Benny Heath was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Analy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Analy has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Piner, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.
