The Mars Fightin' Planets lost against the Baldwin Highlanders back in October of 2018, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Mars lost to Baldwin on the road by a decisive 62-48 margin.
Mars' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Vita Vargo, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Vargo scored a full 35.4% of Mars' points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Mya Moore was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Mars' loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Baldwin, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Mars won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Highlands at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for Baldwin, they will be playing at home against Mt. Lebanon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
