Baseball Recap: Woodbridge's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

It was a good run, but Woodbridge unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Irvine Vaqueros. Warriors fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Vaqueros since on Wednesday.

Vincent DeMarco was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

DeMarco wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Stottlemyer, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Woodbridge's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Irvine, their record is now 9-11.

While Woodbridge had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
