The Tussey Mountain Titans suffered their closest loss yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Everett by a score of 42-39. Tussey Mountain was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Everett apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Tussey Mountain lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aubree Weaver, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Weaver has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marlee Hall, who scored seven points.
Tussey Mountain struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Tussey Mountain has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-4 record this season. As for Everett, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-5.
Tussey Mountain will head out on the road to take on Southern Huntingdon County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Southern Huntingdon County presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tussey Mountain in Pennsylvania (Southern Huntingdon County is ranked 127th, while Tussey Mountain is ranked 304th). As for Everett, they will be playing at home against Forbes Road at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
