Overhills was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Pinecrest, sneaking past 15-14. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Jaguars' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Melisssa Nunn made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Overhills got a massive performance out of Serenity Mclean, who fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave Mclean a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Autumn Portmann, who fired off four doubles, three runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-5.
Overhills lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Pinecrest is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.75 runs. As for Overhills, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Overhills has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442.
