The Miramonte Matadors came tearing into Monday's matchup with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Mt. Diablo by a score of 60-52.
Karena Eberts was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 21 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Miramonte's points. Another player making a difference was Maegan Eichenberger, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Miramonte pushed their record up to 13-8 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Mt. Diablo, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miramonte on the road again on Friday and play against Campolindo at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. As for Mt. Diablo, they will square off against Concord at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Concord focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Monday.
