The Elkhorn Antlers will face off against the Elkhorn North Wolves at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Elkhorn sitting on five straight wins and Elkhorn North on four.
Elkhorn is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Lincoln Northwest with a sharp 14-1 victory on Tuesday. With that win, the Antlers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Lexi Randles looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ava Crollard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Brooklyn Wragge was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Elkhorn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Elkhorn North came out on top against Duchesne/Roncalli on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over Duchesne/Roncalli. Considering the Wolves have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Lauren Jardine made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Jardine was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Elkhorn North let Kelsey Daubert and Peyton Johnson run wild. Daubert went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Johnson went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Phalen, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
Elkhorn North's victory bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Elkhorn, their win bumped their record up to 18-12.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Elkhorn hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Elkhorn North struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Elkhorn might still be hurting after the 15-7 defeat they got from Elkhorn North when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Antlers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
