The Workman Lobos's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They lost to St. Lucy on the road by a decisive 39-21 margin. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Workman of the 56-24 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2014.
Kira Carroll was the offensive standout of the contest as she dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. Danika Mejico was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and six assists.
Workman's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-18. As for St. Lucy's, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Workman will take on Azusa at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Azusa is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for St. Lucy's, they will be playing at home against Upland at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Upland is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
