Foothill and El Dorado are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Foothill Knights will stay at home for another game and welcome the El Dorado Golden Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th. Foothill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 671st, while El Dorado is ranked 78th).
Foothill suffered their biggest loss since December 16, 2023 on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 53-33 defeat at the hands of Yorba Linda. That's two games in a row now that Foothill has lost by exactly 20 points.
Despite their defeat, Foothill saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Charlotte Fajardo, who scored 15 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Bak, who scored four points along with 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, El Dorado waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They strolled past Yucaipa with points to spare, taking the game 58-39.
Foothill has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for El Dorado, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-5.
Foothill suffered a grim 69-43 defeat to El Dorado in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Foothill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
