In what's become a running theme this season, the Lake Central Indians gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They put the hurt on Washington Township with a sharp 52-29 victory. The victory was nothing new for Lake Central as they're now sitting on three straight.
Lake Central was led to victory by Aniyah Bishop and Vanessa Wimberly. Bishop scored 13 points along with two steals, while Wimberly scored 13 points along with five steals. Bishop is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayla Krygier, who scored five points along with three blocks.
Washington Township's loss came despite strong showings from Brooklyn Campbell and Gracie Little. Campbell scored seven points along with seven rebounds, while Little scored eight points.
Lake Central's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Washington Township, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.
Lake Central and the Mustangs will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Munster will be looking to extend their current 11-game winning streak. Washington Township's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Cherokees at 6:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Morgan Township is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
