The Dixon Rams will head out to take on the Amador Buffaloes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
On Friday, Dixon came up short against Destiny Christian Academy and fell 7-3. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brayden McgarrGreen was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Maddox Gilday, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.
Amador came out on top against Rosemont on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Buffaloes blew past the Wolverines 11-2. The Buffaloes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.
Sam Baker made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Brad Blankenheim was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Amador: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Miguel Torres, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Dixon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Amador, their record now sits at 10-3-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dixon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Amador struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Dixon came out on top in a nail-biter against Amador in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Buffaloes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
