Benicia hasn't had much luck against Vacaville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Benicia Panthers will take on the Vacaville Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Benicia 4, Vacaville 3.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Benicia was handed a six-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Heritage 4-3.

Brice Brunson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, Myles Cooper was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nash Rubins, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-5.
Meanwhile, Vacaville posted their closest win since February 22nd on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory.
Vacaville also got a great performance from Eric Johnson as he tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Johnson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sean Moffett, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. Peyton Olds also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Vacaville is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. Benicia's record is now 4-1.
Both Benicia and Vacaville just can't seem to miss. Benicia has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Vacaville struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
