The El Camino Eagles posted their biggest victory since December 20, 2023 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Elk Grove with a sharp 44-22 victory. The squad ran away with 32 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the victory.
El Camino had a senior duo take command as Noelle Potratz scored eight points along with 15 rebounds and two blocks and Kiena Thomas dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Potratz is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cosette Coles, who scored six points.
The victory makes it two in a row for El Camino and bumps their season record up to 13-11. As for Elk Grove, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
El Camino will head out on the road to square off against Del Campo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Del Campo comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. Elk Grove won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pleasant Grove at 6:30 p.m. on January 24th. Pleasant Grove is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
