South Hills scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Linfield Christian by a score of 70-61. Given South Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while Linfield Christian is ranked 1006th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, Pacifica's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 46-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Godinez Fundamental. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pacifica in their matchups with Godinez Fundamental: they've now lost four in a row.
South Hills is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Pacifica, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-1.
