Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (58), Young Men's Leadership Academy still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Young Men's Leadership Academy saw an underclassman step up: Isaiah Rivera scored 24 points. Rivera scored a full 40.7% of Young Men's Leadership Academy's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tavion Steen, who scored 12 points.
Young Men's Leadership Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for La Vernia, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 23-0.
Young Men's Leadership Academy will head out on the road to face off against Gonzales at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for La Vernia, they will be playing in front of their home fans against John F. Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully John F. Kennedy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
