The More Knights will head out on the road to take on the Summit Shasta Black Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. More will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
More is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against MacDonald last Wednesday as they made off with a 16-0 win. With that victory, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Zep Cortese

03/18/25 vs Pinewood | 2 |
03/05/25 @ Priory | 2 |
04/14/25 vs Summit Tahoma | 1 |
04/11/25 @ North Valley Baptist | 1 |
The team relied heavily on Zep Cortese, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anthony Selway, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
More always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Summit Shasta unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of South San Francisco.
Caden Frost made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. He has become a key player for Summit Shasta: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least three hits, but 6-7 otherwise. Milo Jung was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
More's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Summit Shasta, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. More has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Summit Shasta struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went More's way against Summit Shasta in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as More made off with a 12-3 win. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Black Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
