In what's become a running theme this season, Christian Brothers gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They breezed by Del Campo at home to the tune of 81-12. Given Christian Brothers' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while Del Campo is ranked 1135th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
El Camino suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Monday. They took a serious blow against Vista del Lago, falling 62-14. El Camino was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-7.
Noelle Potratz put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored six points along with eight rebounds and five blocks. That was a full 42.9% of El Camino's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Javanna Pedigo was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, El Camino struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Vista del Lago pulled down 24 offensive rebounds.
Christian Brothers pushed their record up to 14-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.5 points per game. As for El Camino, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-10.
Everything came up roses for Christian Brothers against El Camino in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 96-27 victory. With Christian Brothers ahead 47-8 at the half, the match was all but over already.
