Softball Recap: Chandler's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Chandler waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Kellyville Ponies 9-2. Considering the Lions have won nine matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kennedy Allen made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Madison Cagle and Blaklei Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Cagle went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs, while Smith went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave Cagle a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brenlee Corea, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Chandler's record now sits at 13-1. As for Kellyville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chandler will head out to take on Sperry at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 1.1, the Pirates 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Kellyville, they will face off against Drumright at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
