The Cornerstone Christian Cougars stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Fremont Christian, posting a 71-25 win at home. Given Cornerstone Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Fremont Christian is ranked 753rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cornerstone Christian found their leader in underclassman Kaylie Bertand, who scored 21 points along with five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bertand has scored all season. Pamela-Joyce Allen was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Cornerstone Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Fremont Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Cornerstone Christian will head out on the road to square off against Holy Names at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fremont Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against California School for the Deaf at 4:00 p.m.
