Last Thursday, South Pontotoc earned a 14-6 win over Byhalia. The win was just what South Pontotoc needed coming off of a 53-3 loss in their prior match.

West Lauderdale also got a significant boost from Caleb Collins, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 112 yards.
Another reason for the win was West Lauderdale's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Leading the way was Carson Smith and his three sacks.
South Pontotoc's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for West Lauderdale, their victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-1.
