The Santa Maria Saints's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their ninth straight loss. They fell just short of Morro Bay by a score of 43-40. Santa Maria has struggled against Morro Bay recently, as their contest on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nevaeh Madrigal, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Hill, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks.
Santa Maria has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-14 record this season. As for Morro Bay, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-6.
Santa Maria does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Morro Bay also has no future games currently scheduled.
