The Intermountain Christian Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They fell just short of Freedom Prep Academy by a score of 48-45. Intermountain Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Freedom Prep Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Hillaker, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was David Reist, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Freedom Prep Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ezra Chan led the charge by scoring 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Henricksen, who scored 14 points.
Intermountain Christian's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Freedom Prep Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 3-13.
Intermountain Christian will head out on the road to challenge American Prep WV at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. American Prep WV has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 842 points over their last 11 games. As for Freedom Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Utah Military Academy - Hill Field at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Utah (Freedom Prep Academy is ranked 139th, while Utah Military Academy - Hill Field is ranked 138th).
