The McNair Eagles struggled with assists on Friday (the Christian Brothers Falcons had 19 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. McNair had to suffer through a rough 88-26 loss at the hands of the Falcons. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points McNair has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why McNair lost, one person who can't be blamed is Malia Do. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Aleyah Harmon was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 assists for Christian Brothers. Harmon has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Joy Omishakin was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for McNair and nudges their season record down to 12-12. As for Christian Brothers, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-5.
McNair will take on the Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Chavez focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday. As for Christian Brothers, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Carondelet presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Falcons in California (the Cougars are ranked 14th, while the Falcons are ranked 120th).
