The Leland Chargers will face off against the Leigh Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Leland turned things around against Oak Grove on Saturday. They never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Chargers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Sam Mao looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Leland is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-6 otherwise.
At the plate, Caden Canter was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. Chris Fischer was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Leland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Leigh had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Friday. Everything went their way against the Warriors as they made off with a 12-0 win. Considering the Longhorns have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Justin Jeong, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Michael Mogannam, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Leigh's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Leland, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 4-7.
Leland might still be hurting after the 7-1 loss they got from Leigh when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Leland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
