It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies can now relate to. They received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 62-43 to the Mariners. Godinez Fundamental's defeat signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.
Several Grizzlies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julissa Mota, who scored 15 points along with three steals. Mayra Soltero was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Godinez Fundamental struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Godinez Fundamental's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-9. As for St. Monica, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 21-9 record this season.
Godinez Fundamental does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Monica, they will take on Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Monica knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Jordan likes a good challenge.
