The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central Valley in their matchups with University Prep: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Central Valley still got an impressive performance from Kylie Mason, who scored 24 points along with four steals. Mason is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Meridian Smutz, who scored no points along with 13 rebounds.
Central Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost 17 of their last 18 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season. As for University Prep, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-4.
Central Valley will be playing at home against Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lassen is coming into the matchup with four straight losses on the road, meaning Central Valley will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for University Prep, they will square off against West Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matchups -- so hopefully University Prep likes a good challenge.
