Football Recap: Mcfarland's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

McFarland had won two straight games and Malachi Davis did his part to make it three on Friday. The Cougars walked away with a 50-42 win over the Granite Hills Grizzlies for which the team can thank Davis, who rushed for 155 yards and a pair of TDs on only 11 carries, and also threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns while completing 88% of his passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 62 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

McFarland's defensive line made their presence known, laying out the QB six times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as six different players picked up one apiece. They received some extra help from Raul Cabanillas, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

McFarland's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Granite Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McFarland will welcome Del Oro at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 919 yards in their previous games. As for Granite Hills, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Mira Monte at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
