Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Jackson County

Jackson County won against South Gwinnett last Friday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Panthers came out on top against the Palm Beach Central Broncos by a score of 7-2. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Charlie Crowe looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Garrett Klein was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March. Preston Wilson was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Jackson County's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Palm Beach Central, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 15-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson County will challenge Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3.8, the Tigers 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Palm Beach Central, they will take on Palm Beach Gardens at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gators have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
