Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oakland). They walked away with a 61-53 victory over the Damonte Ranch Mustangs on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wildcats as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

When it comes to explaining why Damonte Ranch lost, don't look at Mya Ghisletta. Despite the final result, she went 9 for 20 on her way to 25 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave Ghisletta a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Moscove, who posted eight points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Oakland's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Damonte Ranch, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Oakland wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 74-37 defeat against Cardinal Newman on the 14th. As for Damonte Ranch, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 50-35 loss against Campolindo on the 14th.
