Pueblo Centennial is 0-10 against Pueblo Central since September of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Bulldogs will face off against the Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Pueblo Centennial lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Pueblo South, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's contest. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Colts with a sharp 16-5 victory on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Pueblo Centennial let Olivia Aragon and Karley Zamarripa run wild. Aragon went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Zamarripa went 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two runs gave Aragon a new career-high. Tommilynn Cruz was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Pueblo Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are 8-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Pueblo Central came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Eagles 22-5. The Wildcats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Kaydence Martinez made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Charley Autobee, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Karsyn Castro, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Pueblo Central's record now sits at 17-3-1. As for Pueblo Centennial, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Pueblo Central's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Pueblo Centennial has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Pueblo Central, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.9 strikeouts. Will Pueblo Centennial keep running through batters, or will the Wildcats buck the trend?
