Kerman extended their losing streak to four on Friday, dropping them down to 7-15. They came up short against the Kingsburg Vikings, falling 11-4. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-0 defeat on Tuesday.
Max Ramirez put in work while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2025. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, John Borges was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Raymond Nylen also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
As for Kingsburg, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games.
On Kingsburg's side, Travis Clifton looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Clifton has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kingsburg got a massive performance out of Jensen Hirschkorn, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Fuentes, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Kerman is set to take on their familiar foe Washington Union at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kingsburg will face off against rival Central Valley Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
