The Salmen Spartans will face off against the Brusly Panthers at 4:40 p.m. on Monday. Salmen is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Salmen came up short against Slidell and fell 57-50. While losing is never fun, Salmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Slidell is ranked 33rd).
Destiny Bennett put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. Jamari Muse was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Brusly posted their biggest victory since November 20, 2023 on Friday. They blew past Tara 56-11 at home. That's two games straight that Brusly has won by exactly 45 points.
Salmen now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Brusly, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.
