The Mayer Lutheran Crusaders had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They slipped by Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity 20-19. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Mayer Lutheran also won the last time the pair played back in October.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mayer Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Grimsley, who rushed for 163 yards and a touchdown. Grimsley is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Michael Woestehoff, who rushed for 76 yards.
Mayer Lutheran has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
Mayer Lutheran will face off against Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa at TBD on Friday. Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
