Mountain View had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 0-12-1 to make it seven. They came up short against the Roosevelt Roughriders, falling 20-0. Unfortunately, that's the first time they've come up short against the Roughriders this season, with their most recent defeat being a 21-0 loss on Saturday.
Mountain View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Izabella Atwood, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
As for Roosevelt, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The result was nothing new for Roosevelt, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.
On Roosevelt's side, Lexi Arave made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Arave was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
In other batting news, Roosevelt let Lily Wiese and Emily Beal run wild. Wiese got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Beal got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cali Bly, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Roosevelt didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-4 loss against Severance on the 24th. Hopefully Mountain View paid attention to the Roughriders' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Roughriders at 9:00 a.m.
