The Aquinas Falcons had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 65-62 win over Yucca Valley on Thursday. The victory was just what Aquinas needed coming off of a 83-37 loss in their prior contest.
Madeleine De Kodia continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with five rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Breanna Bates was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Aquinas has been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. As for Yucca Valley, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-5.
Aquinas didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-38 loss vs. Burroughs on the 10th. Yucca Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
