St. Ignatius College Preparatory got a great performance from FInn Demuth as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Demuth has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Emmett Johnson was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. DJ Delaney was another key player, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Aragon won against San Mateo on Tuesday with two runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Dons beat the Bearcats by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Dons in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won three in a row.
Mason Miller tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched.
At the plate, Aragon's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Adi Shanker, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.
Aragon's win bumped their record up to 7-11. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7-2.
St. Ignatius College Preparatory came up short against Aragon in their previous matchup back in April of 2021, falling 5-1. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
