After flying high against the Tulpehocken Trojans last Saturday, the Upper Perkiomen Indians came back down to earth. Upper Perkiomen lost to Oley Valley at home by a decisive 44-26 margin on Friday. Upper Perkiomen lost against Oley Valley in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 59-25 score last time.
Upper Perkiomen's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Erin States, who scored 11 points. States scored a full 42.3% of Upper Perkiomen's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Heiser, who scored 8 points.
Upper Perkiomen now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Oley Valley, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Upper Perkiomen will be playing at home against Kutztown at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Oley Valley will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Brandywine Heights Area at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th.
