The Covenant Christian Cougars will face off against the Dallas Christian Chargers at 8:18 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Covenant Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat John Paul II 42-6. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Covenant Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Peyton Jankowski, who threw for 396 yards and three TDs while completing 79.2% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. The Cougars are undefeated when Jankowski posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-5 otherwise. Lucas Wallace was in the mix too, providing Covenant Christian with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Dallas Christian's strategy against All Saints Episcopal last Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Chargers blew the Trojans out of the water with a 56-9 final score. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won seven contests by 32 points or more so far this season.
Covenant Christian better keep an eye on Luke Syvrud. He was instrumental in Dallas Christian's win, throwing for 174 yards and one TD while completing 87.5% of his passes, and also rushing for 37 yards. What's more, Syvrud racked up 166.7 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September.
Dallas Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 316 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as All Saints Episcopal only rushed for 181.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Dallas Christian, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jaxson Barr, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Dallas Christian's record now sits at 7-3. As for Covenant Christian, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Covenant Christian was dealt a bruising 66-6 defeat at the hands of Dallas Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2022. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cougars were down 59-0.
