Willows hasn't had much luck against Winters recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Honkers will look to defend their home field against the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Willows' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Pierce 9-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Honkers.
Not much got past Anthony Quezada, who gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks to keep Pierce off the board. Quezada has become a key player for Willows: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least eight strikeouts, but 1-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Willows got a big performance out of Charles Squier, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Squier is becoming a predictor of the Honkers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-14 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Collin Garman, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Winters waltzed into their matchup on Friday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Lions.
Boston Jones spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Winters saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Woods, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs Woods has posted since back in April of 2024. Everett Beason was another, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Winters pushed their record up to 12-9 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Willows, their victory bumped their record up to 4-14.
Willows might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Winters when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Will the Honkers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
