The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sacred Heart of Jesus in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.
Sacred Heart of Jesus lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Xitlali Botts, who scored five points along with 15 rebounds and eight steals. Botts is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Wendy Gonzalez, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Sacred Heart of Jesus' loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.
Sacred Heart of Jesus will be playing at home against the Pacers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Pomona Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against the Pioneers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. San Gabriel Mission comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 19 points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
