The Coalinga Horned Toads stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Tranquillity, posting a 70-22 victory on the road. The victory was nothing new for Coalinga as they're now sitting on five straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coalinga to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julia Gressman, who scored 14 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gressman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cecilia Perez, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Coalinga pushed their record up to 16-3 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Tranquillity, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Coalinga will look to defend their home court on Friday against Avenal at 5:30 p.m. Avenal will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1193rd, while Coalinga is ranked 415th). Tranquillity won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Laton at 4:30 p.m. on January 17th. Hopefully Laton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
