Texas boys basketball toughest strength of schedule

The regular wraps up this week and playoffs start for Texas boys basketball teams. We look at the toughest strengths of schedule throughout the state in the latest MaxPreps Texas Boys Basketball Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard.

Allen
Strength of schedule: 20.3.
The Eagles (26-6) boast the toughest schedule in the state. Allen, ranked No. 3, lost to Westfield (Houston) in November, one of its toughest games all season. The Eagles square off with No. 8 Cedar Hill on Feb. 25.

Lancaster
SOS: 20.3.
The Tigers (16-11) are only five games over .500, but have played the top teams in the state down to the wire. Lancaster has dropped five of its six matchups to top-13 teams, falling three times by one or two points.

Lake Ridge (Mansfield)
SOS: 19.8.
The Eagles (16-13) have captured wins over Cedar Hill and Midlothian this season to help bolster their victories.

Guyer (Denton)
SOS: 19.4.
The Wildcats (25-5) had a difficult 12-point loss to Cedar Hill in December, the lone top-10 opponent they've faced this year.

Plano East (Plano)
SOS: 19.2.
The Panthers (10-18) have dropped games to Steele (Cibolo) and Plano West by four and three points, respectively. Five of Plano East's other losses are to top-50 squads.

DeSoto
SOS: 18.8.
The Eagles (22-9) have a strong win against Waxahachie and "good" losses to Cedar Hill (twice) and Westlake (Austin) and out-of-state Whitney Young (Chicago).

Plano
SOS: 18.6.
The Wildcats (11-16) have played eight games this season against top-60 teams, registering two wins, defeating Trinity Christian (Lubbock) and Guyer (Denton).

Plano West (Plano)
SOS: 18.4.
The Wolves (20-12) split a season series with Guyer (Denton) and dropped a pair of games to Allen and one to Mansfield Timberview (Arlington).

Flower Mound
SOS: 18.1.
The Jaguars (20-11) had three tough losses in a matter of two weeks at the end of December and early January, falling to top-25 teams Westfield (Houston), Pearland and Guyer (Denton).

Westlake (Austin)
SOS: 18.0.
The Chapparals (25-6) have key victories over Cedar Hill (64-48) and Waxahachie (75-41). The postseason will offer Westlake a challenge as it strives for a state title.

Midlothian
SOS: 18.0.
The Panthers (21-10) downed Guyer (Denton) by one point in the season opener, but have fallen twice to top teams Allen and Waxahachie and Mansfield Timberview (Arlington).

Mansfield Summit (Arlington)
SOS: 18.0.
The Jaguars (13-15) have important wins over Midlothian and Lancaster to give them a solid resume.

Pearce (Richardson)
SOS: 18.0.
The Mustangs (9-20) are trying to get their 10th victory of the season in playoffs. The team downed No. 20 North Crowley (Fort Worth) and nearly beat No. 5 Skyline (Dallas).
