The Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with High Point Christian Academy sitting on eight straight wins and Hickory Grove Christian on three.
High Point Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 61-6 victory over South Wake. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cougars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Lions are ranked 381st).

Jaylen Moore produced another solid effort rushing for 184 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.5 yards per carry. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 18th straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season. Hez Krider was another key rusher, rushing for 78 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries.
Meanwhile, Hickory Grove Christian blew past SouthLake Christian Academy, posting a 41-12 win. Considering the Lions have won five games by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
High Point Christian Academy better keep an eye on Chris Bryant. He was instrumental in Hickory Grove Christian's win, rushing for 39 yards and two scores. Those two rushing touchdowns gave Bryant a new career-high.
Hickory Grove Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 312 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
One reason for the win was Hickory Grove Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Tay Sturdivant and Jesse Blazi, who racked up four sacks between them. With that strong performance, Sturdivant is now averaging an impressive 5.1 total tackles per game.
High Point Christian Academy's record now sits at 8-0. As for Hickory Grove Christian, their record is now 6-1.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. High Point Christian Academy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 277.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Hickory Grove Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 164.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything came up roses for High Point Christian Academy against Hickory Grove Christian in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 41-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
