Basketball Recap: John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills Takes a Loss

John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 63-42 to the Faith Christian Lions. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 906th, while the Lions are ranked 204th).

Despite the loss, John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Norah Barmby went 7 of 12 on her way to 14 points and seven rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for Barmby. The team also got some help courtesy of Bianca Taguinod, who posted nine points.

It was another big night for Lauren Harris, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 14 rebounds for Faith Christian. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Harris has scored at least a third of Faith Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Presley Berry, who had 13 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals.

John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Faith Christian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.

John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 43-33 defeat against Western Sierra Collegiate Academy on the 9th. As for Faith Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-14 victory against Buckingham Charter on the 10th.
