While losing is never fun, Bakersfield Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 261st, while Cornerstone Christian is ranked 70th).
Despite the loss, Bakersfield Christian still got an impressive performance from Ava King , who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. King hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games.
Cornerstone Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zakara Cooper led the charge by scoring 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 5 steals. The game was Cooper's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mecca Alexander, who scored 17 points.
Bakersfield Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Cornerstone Christian, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.
Bakersfield Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Oak Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Cornerstone Christian, they will take on Fremont Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
